If you have any questions, you can contact our Assistant Principal, Mrs. Thank you as always for being our educational partner during this unprecedented time of virtual learning. We’re looking forward to offering this additional platform for our teachers to better provide support for our students. HCPSS-issued devices and accounts are governed primarily by HCPSS Board policies: 8080 Responsible Use of Technology, Digital Tools and Social Media, 3040 Technology Security, and 3060 Student Data Governance and Privacy. There will be no opt-out option for Lightspeed. For example, if a student was on a site viewing their own image via the web camera the teacher would be able to see that content.Īdditionally, to comply with the Children’s Internet Protection Act, HCPSS uses Lightspeed to filter inappropriate content and monitor general usage of the Chromebooks, during and beyond the school day. If the website turns on the student’s camera and/or microphone, the teacher would be able to observe the video and audio the web camera picks up. However, teachers can direct and lock a student’s computer to specific websites. Teachers do not have the ability to control computer screens, including clicking buttons and changing settings. Teachers will only have access to Lightspeed during regularly scheduled class time. Close browser tabs and automatically navigate to websites.Lock screen to transition between live whole group activities and live independent work Outschool offers live online education experiences that connect real-life teachers with.Share a student's screen Sharing students’ screens makes Classroom Presentation Day easy. This keeps teachers from being tied to their desks and allows them to walk around the classroom whether in-person or virtually. But if you're looking for the best webinar tool out there, Livestorm is the one.Beginning this week, our school is participating in the use of Lightspeed, a platform and instructional support tool that helps teachers keep students on track and safe as they navigate online learning. So, like I said earlier, if you have any events that are larger than either a one off or a series of events, say you're trying to do an online conference with multiple sessions, Livestorm may not be for you. And they would even reach out on a regular basis just to make sure everything was working properly. And then, honestly, after the fact, if I had any questions, it was really easy to reach out to them. We did have a call with somebody who helped us with onboarding. The whole system is very intuitive, and they have a wonderful support system. It was incredibly easy getting started with Livestorm. There are some more expensive software out there for bigger events, but Livestorm is the best for those one-off events, like webinars, and that's really why we went with them. If you're doing events with multiple sessions or events with a single session, like webinars. Livestorm really provided everything that we needed. At the end of every webinar, we could track where somebody came from, and then pretty much all of their information, and it would just sink it into our CRM. And Livestorm gave us all that tracking capability. So, basically, easier to track when people would sign up from different sources, whether that was email, or social media, or our website. And honestly, it worked fine for some of our live demos, but I wanted something a little bit more interactive and easier to track. For more reviews, click below.īefore we were using Livestorm, we used Crowdcast. And I would rate Livestorm four out of five stars.
